Gillian MacLaren Jacobs was born October 19, 1982. She is an American actress. She is best known for her roles as Britta Perry in the NBC comedy series Community (2009-2015), Mickey Dobbs on the Netflix romantic comedy series Love (2016-2018) as well as Atom Eve on the Amazon animated series Invincible (2021). Mimi Rose Howard played a regular role in the fourth season of the HBO comedy series Girls (2012 to 2017). Gillian MacLaren Jacobs was conceived in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on October 19 in 1982. Martina Magenau Jacobs is her mother and works at Carnegie Mellon University in alumni relations. Her father, William F. Jacobs Jr. was an investment banker. Her father was killed in 2013. She was raised by her mother in Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania. Her family owned the Erie Brewing Company (not to be confused with the subsequent brewery with the same name), where her grandfather, John Martin Magenau Jr. was the president and CEO until the company closed in 1978.Jacobs started studying acting at age four and was a student in weekend classes at the Pittsburgh Playhouse while growing up.
