Charisma Carpenter

Charisma Carpenter was born on July 23rd 70 years ago. Cordelia Chase was a character in Buffy the Vampire Slayer's fantasy drama series (1997-1999) and the spin-off series Angel (1999-04). She was also a star in Charmed (2004) and Kendall Casablanca's (2005-2006), Rebecca Sewell (2012-2013) and Lacy (2010-2012) Carpenter was born in Las Vegas, Nevada,[disputed - discuss] and was the daughter of Christine, a bird sanctuary worker as well as Don Carpenter, a salesman. Carpenter has Spanish, French, and German origin (from her maternal grandfather). Carpenter was a student at the Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas. Carpenter was also part of a song-and dance troupe which performed in Las Vegas Valley. Carpenter's family relocated to Rosario Beach (Baja California, Mexico) when Carpenter was just 15 years old. She went to Bonita Vista High School and Chula Vista School of the Creative and Performing Arts. Carpenter was a frequent traveler throughout Europe following her graduation. Carpenter returned to San Diego in 1991 and worked as an aerobics instructor as well as a videostore clerk and property manager. In 1991, she worked as a cheerleader for the San Diego Chargers football team. In 1992, she moved to Los Angeles.While swimming in San Diego in 1991, she and two male buddies were attacked by Henry Hubbard Jr., a former San Diego police officer and serial rapist, who tried to subdue them by threatening them with guns. In the course of the fight she and her two friends along with Hubbard were shot, forcing Hubbard to flee the scene; both friends were able to escape the assault. Hubbard was detained, later found guilty, and sentenced to 56 years in prison for a string of robberies and rapes. Carpenter took Hubbard his flashlight from the police station on the beach. He had left it at the scene. This flashlight would become an important evidence piece against Hubbard.
