Patricia Velásquez

Creativity extends beyond the photo, canvas as well as film and other media. It could also serve as the catalyst for charity and philanthropy and also activism. Award-winning model, actress, and history-making supermodel, staunch philanthropist, conscientious activist, author, and mother of two. Patricia Velasquez applies an eternal creative spirit to everything she does. It could be acting in blockbusters like The Curse of La Llorona or launching the Wayuu Taya Foundation and participating in the UNESCO Board. She relies on her intuition and designs her own path taking huge leaps. She says, "I see my career as a long ladder." "I have been through every step. It was incredible to do this, because there has been perseverance. Simply put my head down , and moved one step at the time. And then it was over. This is a metaphor that evokes a formative experience. The author was born in Venezuela but raised in France and Mexico She moved to Venezuela after a couple of years. In South America her parents worked in the field of education. They moved their family to an apartment complex without running water or elevators. Patricia carried 15 flights of stairs up with heavy buckets in order to provide water to the area. She tried to help her family as much as possible, despite studying engineering and intensive dance training. The pledge she made to her family, which was the most important factor that helped her rise to the top in the fashion industry, got her being scouted for modeling in Milan. She recalls that she was invited to visit Italy to model for the fashion industry. "If I could send thirty dollars per month back to Venezuela, it would be worth it since that would pay for every single drop of water in the building." Patricia's triumph was an important turning point in fashion when she brought attention from the fashion world to South America for the first time. She received a major break after becoming "the first model Karl Lagerfeld ever photographed" and later, she walked in shows, appear in editorial spreads and advertisements for front pages of Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana, Fendi, Chloe, Cover Girl, and Victoria's Secret to name some. Her fame spread across the globe. she was featured on Oprah as well as Ford Models' "Supermodel of the World" contest as well. She was also featured on the covers of Vogue, Bazaar, Marie Claire and numerous other publications.
