Naomi Watts

 

Naomi Ellen Watts was born 28 September 1968. She made her film debut in Australia in For Love Alone (1986) and was followed by three TV series: Hey Dad.. (1990), Brides of Christ (911) and Home and Away (1991) and Flirting (1991). After having moved to the United States, Watts initially struggled to become an actress, acting in small-scale film until she appeared in David Lynch's psychological thriller Mulholland Drive in 2001 as an actress who was aspiring. Her rise to international fame was triggered by this part. Watts played the part of a journalist suffering from depression in The Ring, a horror film that was remade. For her portrayal of a grieving mother in the Alejandro film 21 Grams, she was nominated to win the Academy Award for Best Actress. She continued to climb the ranks of the spotlight with her the roles in I Heart Huckabees (2004) and King Kong (2005) as also Eastern Promises (2007) and The International (2009). For her performance as Maria Bennett in the disaster film The Impossible (2012), Watts got another Academy Award nomination for Best Actress. In the 2010s she appeared in films as Birdman (2014) St. Vincent (2014), While We're Young (2015), The Glass Castle (2017), and Luce (2019). Watts was also a mainstay in blockbuster film, appearing in Divergent (2015)-2016.
